We are looking to recruit a Zero Hour Prescription Delivery Driver to work on a 12-month fixed term contract at our 807 branch at Highfield Surgery, Holtdale Approach, Leeds, LS16 7RX. Opening hours for our branch are Monday to Friday 09:00 to 18:00. We are looking for an individual who is flexible to work within these branch opening times, who has great people skills and the desire to provide a professional service standard to both our customers and the Pharmacy Teams.

To fulfil this role, you must be able to work under pressure to deliver prescriptions in the given designated period of time. Attention to detail is paramount as you will be responsible to ensure that prescription items are delivered in line with the company's regulated procedures. You may be required to assist with PR exercises to increase business. You will be required to use your own vehicle for this role; therefore, if appointed your personal insurance policy must allow for business use. It is advised that you contact your insurer to obtain information regarding this prior to attending an interview. The Company will make a financial contribution to the business aspect of your insurance upon receipt of a document demonstrating any increased premium.

The successful candidate must have great people skills as this is paramount to your role. You will be required to work as part of a well-established team and ensure our customers receive a high standard of service.

Please note that "business insurance" refers to the vehicle only, and not the contents. Reimbursement for mileage undertaken on business journeys will be at a rate of 40p per mile up to 10,000 miles, after which 25p a mile will be reimbursed as per HMRC guidelines. Fuel receipts should be obtained for each visit to the petrol station and the mileage claim submitted on a weekly basis.

You may also be required to assist with PR exercises to increase business. If appointed, there is a 12-month fixed term contract at our 807 branch. The branch opening hours are Monday to Friday 09:00 to 18:00, and you must be flexible to these times. You will be paid as per the company’s terms and conditions and are expected to maintain a professional image as an ambassador for the Cohens brand.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver prescription items to private houses, nursing and residential homes promptly and conscientiously.
  • Provide a high standard of customer service and act as an ambassador for the Cohens brand.
  • Plan and print daily routes in branch before starting deliveries (basic computer skills required).
  • Work as part of a well-established team and support colleagues and customers.
  • Adhere to company regulated procedures for delivery accuracy and timeliness.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Very basic computer skills to plan and print daily routes.
  • Own vehicle; business use insurance required and permissive upon insurer confirmation.
  • Ability to work within branch hours (Monday–Friday 09:00–18:00) and demonstrate flexibility.
  • Excellent people skills and professional presentation.
  • Willingness to participate in DBS checking as part of recruitment.
