We are looking to recruit a Zero Hour Prescription Delivery Driver to work on a permanent contract at our 495 branch located at 8 Laburnum Terrace, Ashington, NE63 0XX. The role covers annual leave and sickness cover.
Hours & Flexibility
Branch opening hours are Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:30 and Saturday 09:00 – 12:00. We require an individual who is flexible to work within these times, has great people skills, and is dedicated to providing a professional service standard to both customers and the Pharmacy Teams.
Compensation & Mileage
Reimbursement for mileage undertaken on business journeys will be at a rate of 42p per mile up to 10,000 miles, after which 25p per mile will be reimbursed in accordance with HMRC guidelines. Fuel receipts should be obtained for each visit to the petrol station and the mileage claim submitted weekly.
Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities include promptly and conscientiously delivering prescription items to private houses, nursing homes and residential homes while maintaining a high standard of customer service. You will portray a friendly professional image and act as an ambassador for the Cohens brand. Attention to detail is paramount; you must ensure that prescription items are delivered in line with the company’s regulated procedures. A basic level of computer skills is required to plan and print your daily routes in the branch before setting off on deliveries. You may also be asked to assist with PR initiatives to increase business.
Vehicle & Insurance
You must use your own vehicle for this role. If appointed, your personal insurance policy must allow for business use. We can make a financial contribution towards the business aspect of your insurance upon receipt of documentation confirming an increased premium.
People Skills & Teamwork
Great people skills are required, as you will work as part of a well‑established team and ensure customers receive a high standard of service.
