We are looking to recruit a 32-hour Trainee Counter Assistant on a fixed term contract to work at our 734-branch located at Hume Street Medical Centre, Hume Street, Kidderminster, DY11 6SF.

Shift Pattern

  • Monday 09:00 – 18:00 (one-hour unpaid lunch break)
  • Tuesday 09:00 – 18:00 (one-hour unpaid lunch break)
  • Wednesday 09:00 – 18:00 (one-hour unpaid lunch break)
  • Friday 09:00 – 18:00 (one-hour unpaid lunch break)

Responsibilities

  • Work under the supervision of the Pharmacist and assist customers with the sale of over-the-counter medicines, offering advice on the provision of information, symptoms and products, and promoting additional services offered by the branch.
  • Replenish stock and support the pharmacy team.
  • Support colleagues in running a successful pharmacy service.
  • Advise customers on managing common conditions encountered in the pharmacy.
  • Recommend over-the-counter products appropriately to customers.
  • Support colleagues with receiving and handing out prescriptions.

Ideal Candidate

The role suits someone with previous customer service experience. The candidate must possess great people skills, be detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure and strict deadlines.

Training

You will be enrolled onto a Medicines Counter Assistant Course that you will complete in branch over a period of time and, once qualified, will be able to confidently perform the responsibilities listed above.
