We are looking to recruit a Zero Hour Prescription Delivery Driver to work on a permanent contract at our 319 branch at 278 Newchurch Road, Stacksteads, Bacup, OL13 0UJ. The role covers branches Bacup and Haslingden when the driver is on holiday. Opening hours are Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:30; the successful candidate should be flexible to work within these branch opening times and deliver a high standard of service to customers and Pharmacy Teams.
Responsibilities
- Deliver prescription items promptly and conscientiously to private houses, nursing and residential homes.
- Provide a high standard of customer service and act as an ambassador for the Cohens brand.
- Work under pressure to meet the designated delivery times and ensure accuracy in line with company procedures.
- Plan and print daily routes in branch using basic computer skills before starting deliveries.
- Assist with PR exercises to increase business if required.
- Use your own vehicle for the role; ensure personal insurance policy allows for business use (contact insurer prior to interview if needed). The company may contribute to the business element of insurance on receipt of appropriate documentation.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Very good people skills and the ability to work as part of a well-established team.
- Ability to deliver under pressure and maintain a professional image.
- Basic computer skills for planning routes and printing documents.
- Willingness to assist with promotional activities to support business growth.
- Own vehicle with appropriate business use insurance.
- DBS check as part of the recruitment process (all roles are subject to a DBS).

Reimbursement for business mileage is 40p per mile up to 10,000 miles, then 25p per mile thereafter, in line with HMRC guidelines. Fuel receipts should be obtained for each visit and mileage claims submitted weekly.
