Overview
11017 – We are looking to recruit a Zero Hour Prescription Delivery Driver to work on a permanent contract at our 543 branch at 2 Knowsley Place, Knowsley Street, Bury, BL9 0SN.
Opening hours for our branch are Monday to Friday 08:30 to 18:30. We are seeking an individual who is flexible to work within these branch opening times, who has great people skills and the desire to provide a professional service standard to both our customers and the Pharmacy Teams.
Responsibilities
- Deliver prescription items promptly and conscientiously to private houses, nursing and residential homes.
- Maintain a high standard of customer service and act as an ambassador for the Cohens brand; work under pressure to deliver within the designated time frame.
- Ensure items are delivered in line with the company’s regulated procedures and display attention to detail.
- Plan and print daily delivery routes in branch using basic computer skills before starting deliveries.
- Assist with PR exercises to help increase the business when required.
- Use your own vehicle for the role; ensure your personal insurance policy allows business use and provide any required documentation.
- Be aware that the company may contribute to the business aspect of your insurance upon receipt of appropriate documentation.
Requirements
- Excellent people skills and the ability to work as part of a well-established team to deliver a high standard of service.
- Very basic computer skills for planning routes.
- Own vehicle with business-use insurance (company guidance to obtain this prior to interview).
- DBS check will be undertaken as part of recruitment.
Compensation & Benefits
- Reimbursement for mileage on business journeys: 40p per mile up to 10,000 miles, then 25p per mile (HMRC guidelines).
- Fuel receipts required for each petrol visit; mileage claims submitted weekly.
- Discretionary bonus scheme (optional).
- 4 weeks of paid holiday, plus statutory holidays (pro-rata for part-time employees); pension contributions; employee assistance program (EAP) provided by BUPA; staff discount; regulatory training where required.
- Free uniform – Black polo shirt, black fleece, high-vis vest, high-vis jacket (employees supply smart dark trousers and shoes/boots).
