The predicted salary is between 25000 - 30000 £ per year.
This position requires a commitment of five days a week over seven, with hours between 2 AM to 11 AM. To be successful in this role you will need to understand the scratch baking process and be able to carry out all duties associated with the process.
What You’ll Do:
- Bake high-quality bread and pastries in large volumes for distribution across all stores.
- Use traditional and modern baking techniques to create a range of products from scratch, using only fresh ingredients from local and independent suppliers.
- Take pride in the quality, consistency and presentation of your work — our standards are high, and our customers notice.
- Ensure all baked goods meet internal quality, aesthetic and uniformity standards.
- Work closely with the Production Manager and wider kitchen and warehouse teams to meet daily output targets.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene and allergen standards, including safe storage, labelling and cleaning routines.
- Accurately record all relevant checks and information using our internal systems (Safety Culture).
- Take responsibility for opening and closing the bakery when scheduled.
- Maintain and operate all bakery equipment safely and effectively.
- Support the continuous improvement of our product range by responding to store feedback.
About You:
- A strong background in artisan bread baking, with hands-on experience in a similar environment.
- Preferably qualified in baking, pastry or culinary arts, with additional certifications in food hygiene and safety.
- Skilled in a wide range of baking techniques and comfortable working in a fast-paced production kitchen.
- A collaborative and flexible approach to work, with a desire to learn and grow with the business.
- A keen eye for detail and quality, with a genuine passion for the craft of baking.
- Able to communicate effectively and contribute positively to the wider team culture.
