Snapshot of Duties:
- Take ownership of the Group's general ledgers and financial reporting processes.
- Lead month‑end close, including balance sheet reconciliations and monthly consolidation.
- Oversee the accounting data input (Xero software) team administration.
- Prepare, review, and approve all journals posted to the general ledger.
- Support the annual budgeting process by collaborating with Directors and business units.
- Prepare and submit the Group's VAT returns.
- Lead the audit and corporation tax process, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Guide the development of Corporate Business.
- Assist with ad‑hoc projects supporting the Group's expansion.
- Prepare year‑end statutory accounts and lead quarterly grant submissions and audits.
About you:
- You'll be a qualified or (close to) accountant with hands‑on experience in financial reporting, audit, or professional services.
- You'll be organised, resourceful, and confident challenging processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- You'll communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders and thrive as part of a small finance team.
- ACA / ACCA or CIMA qualified.
- Happy to visit some of the key businesses along M4 corridor.
- Audit or professional services experience preferred.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable owning complex processes and challenging existing ways of working.
- Clear communicator, collaborative, and a team player.
