Overview
In this role, you will lead and develop the Micro Space Planning team to deliver optimal store merchandising solutions. You’ll embed best practices, coach planners, and ensure products appear in the right place at the right time across our stores. You’ll combine technical space-planning expertise with people leadership to drive continuous improvement and support the evolving merchandising strategy at Co-op.

Responsibilities
- Define and embed best practice for the Micro Space Planning team to align with range and merchandising strategies
- Coach Micro Space Planners to improve output quality, consistency and accuracy
- Act as a subject matter expert for micro space planning across reviews, promotions and seasonal activity
- Create customer-focused planograms using JDA software and lead by example
- Evaluate merchandising performance and drive continuous improvement through insights
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, ways of working and efficiency
- Build relationships with buying, marketing and merchandising to deliver business objectives
- Support the Merchandising Manager with expertise and delegation as needed
- Contribute to projects, trials and new initiatives supporting merchandising strategy
Key requirements
- Strong experience with JDA space planning software
- Detailed understanding of store merchandising, inventory management and range reviews
- Experience coaching or mentoring colleagues and supporting teams through change
- Excellent communication, influencing and presentation skills
- Strong analytical skills with data-driven decision making
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate across teams
- Excellent organisational skills with ability to manage competing priorities and maintain customer focus
