The Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Head Chef to lead our culinary team and oversee all food production and banquet functions. In this key role, you will ensure the highest food quality, manage food and labour budgets, maintain food safety standards, and contribute creatively to menu development for both regular service and special events.
Key Responsibilities
- Report to the Food & Beverage Manager and manage a team of chefs and kitchen porters.
- Oversee daily food production, including preparation and delivery of menus to specification.
- Hire, train, schedule and evaluate kitchen staff.
- Ensure correct storage and stock rotation of food supplies, minimise waste and monitor financial results to stay within food and labour budgets.
- Supervise food preparation and presentation, ensuring high‑quality standards and consistent delivery.
- Liaise with the Event Sales Manager to plan food production for special events.
- Maintain the highest standards of hygiene, cleanliness and safety across all kitchen operations.
Experience & Skills Required
A culinary degree or equivalent experience, plus leadership and management skills. Proof of food production and management experience, and training that provides the required knowledge and abilities.
Schedule
The business operates seven days a week, 0600 to 2300. Shift patterns vary with business requirements and include all opening hours, weekends and bank holidays. Evening availability for functions until 0200.
