We are seeking a Principle Solutions Engineer for a contract position. This is a part-time, hybrid role and the candidate can be based anywhere in Scotland. Work will be carried out remotely and in hubs in Glasgow, Dundee and Edinburgh. We are looking for someone that can think strategically, but is also happy to roll up their sleeves to support more hands-on work.

Responsibilities include:

  • The design of repeatable tech stacks that solve the digital transformation challenges of small-medium businesses, start-ups and non-profit organisations. We want to build repeatable models that are cost effective to run and maintain, and that can be implemented by our Junior Consultants.
  • To work with the Programme Director to define client requirements – in particular, defining scope, overseeing the creation of user stories and estimating effort requirements.
  • Support the Programme Director and Technical Coaches to build a backlog for each client.
  • Step in as a Technical Coach, if a volunteer is unavailable.

Experience, Knowledge and Motivation

If you have a genuine interest in helping others to reach their potential and are a team player that understands the impact of their own actions on others, are generous in sharing knowledge, comfortable trying new ideas, and have a proficiency in solution architecture, cloud platforms, and infrastructure design, knowledge and experience with programming languages, software development processes, and system integration, and would thrive in a hybrid environment, working both remotely and on-site, then we’d love to hear from you!

We are an inclusive employer and welcome applications from people who have, and have not, excelled in traditional education. We favour demonstrable experience, a positive attitude and a kind approach to teamwork.
