The Burt’s Bees National account manager plays a critical role in delivering Clorox Europe’s growth agenda by translating commercial and brand strategy into customer specific profitable plans, leading and accelerating delivery of cross functional execution in priority retail partners. The role carries accountability for Boots, Superdrug, Holland & Barrett and High Street discounters.
This role shapes a strong account level point of view, builds collaborative customer and internal stakeholder relationships, delivering high quality joint business planning, demand creation, and NPD execution to accelerate Burts Bees growth and expansion opportunities.
- 80% Account Management
Of the 80% time: Boots, Superdrug, (60%) Holland & Barrett, Paul Murray, discounters (20%). Lead the account level commercial agenda for Boots, Superdrug, Holland & Barrett and Paul Murray, shaping a clear point of view that translates channel strategy into actionable customer plans. Partner closely with the Head of Channel and Sales planning to align account plans to commercial priorities and deliver against revenue and margin targets. Develop and execute yearly joint business plans (JBP’s) with clear investments, activation plans and measurable outcomes. Own customer performance management including forecasting, availability, supply collaboration and inventory management. Execute NPD launches flawlessly in line with brand and channel strategies ensuring strong distribution, visibility and conversion. Manage trade spend with discipline, ensuring compliance, accurate accruals and demonstrate ROI. Strengthening strategic customer relationships driving collaborative growth agendas and high-quality engagement of stakeholders. Ensure best in class digital shelf execution partnering with shopper marketing to maximise conversion and visibility of the brands.
- 20% Analytics/Admin
Provide an insight led view of account performance, highlighting risks, incremental brand opportunities and required actions to cross functional partners. Input IMS into brand reporting to ensure teams have clear visibility of performance drivers including promotional effectiveness. Audit and analyse digital shelf data and translate findings into actionable plans. Manage timely, compliant Concur processing of trade spend invoices and accurate monthly accruals.
Key Skills, Abilities, And Experience Required
Scope Factors: Reports to Head of Channel. No direct management responsibilities. Revenue Responsibility: approx. $6M net sales across designated accounts. Role is based in Richmond with a hybrid model requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of 3-5+ years’ FMCG account management.
- Experience in Beauty.
- Proven success managing major retail accounts ideally including Boots/Superdrug including JBP preparation and negotiation.
- Strong forecasting/inventory management and forecasting capability.
- Demonstrated trade spend governance and budget management.
Preferred:
- 1 -2+ years’ experience working with wholesale/distribution partners.
Education Level/Degree: Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Strong Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Microsoft Powerpoint – Creation and edit.
- Confident using analytics tools such as Power BI, retail dashboards.
- Familiarity with digital shelf tools (e.g., Profitero, e.store).
- Knowledge and experience of Concur invoice processing or similar platform.
Managerial Skills and Abilities:
- Clear and persuasive communication; skilled negotiator with strong commercial acumen.
- Critical thinking and Problem Solving with analytical rigor and sound decision making.
