The German Market Regional Sales Manager role is responsible for managing all sales in the German market within the pet specialty channel. This role has the added responsibility of establishing the route to market via wholesalers and other third parties that service smaller chains and independent pet specialty stores as part of the market start up. The role will be managing sales while concurrently working on opening up additional wholesalers and distributors to expand market distribution.

Responsibilities

  • 50% Sales Management
    • Responsible for managing sales via wholesalers / distributors in the market
    • Wholesaler / Distributor JBPs & Plan development
    • Manages AMPS execution across the market
    • Works hands-on with active wholesalers, retail reps to provide execution support (materials, calls)
    • Completes sales analytics & KPI s for assigned area
    • Manages Sales Admin according to process and policy – Trade Funding, Forecasting, Order Management
  • 50% RTM Establishment / Development
    • Opens up new routes to market to cover the country and achieve distribution goals
    • Influences wholesalers (active), distributors to list Ever Clean and actively sell into independent and small chains across Germany
    • Establishes influence plans with new WS/Distributors to get β€œpull thru” on Ever Clean once listed, including training their sales reps and assisting with AMPS selling
    • Identifies and recommends required services, like retail services, to influence store decisions, manage the shelf and execute promotions
    • Drives brand presence (retail) and awareness in the market at trade shows

What we look for

  • 5-8+ years’ experience within CPG
  • German market experience is required, ideally in pet specialty
  • Fluent written and spoken German
  • Distributor management or Wholesaler Management to deliver sales results
  • Sales fundamentals – call planning & management, selling and executing AMPS, managing objections etc
  • Strong persuasive selling skills / indirect influence
  • 3rd party Joint Business Plan development / sales plan development
  • Analytical skills with a bias towards insights to action
  • Experienced in developing initial relationships and developing distribution with tenacity

Education & Technical Skills

  • Education Level/Degree: College Education Required. Degree Educated Preferred
  • Competency in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • All sales technical skills – basic AMPS planning & execution, persuasive selling, negotiation, customer business planning.
  • Sales Management skills including data analytics, reporting, trade funds management and sales forecasting

  • Leadership – Supports team initiatives and takes on leadership responsibilities within projects or cross-functional efforts, helping drive performance and collaboration
  • Analytical Thinking - interprets sales data and KPIs to identify trends, supports decision-making and recommend improvements
  • Operational Management – Manages trade funding, forecasting, and order processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in execution
  • Communication & Presentation Skills – Communicates clearly and professionally with internal teams and external partners and contributes to presentations and business reviews
  • Tenacity - ability to push forward when the answers are β€œno” and the wins are few. Can keep asking, keep showing up, and can adapt approach and pitch to land business in a constructive way
