Our client is seeking an experienced Conveyancing Assistant or Residential Property Paralegal to join their Residential Property team in Leatherhead, Surrey. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting fee earners on a busy and varied residential conveyancing caseload while developing their career within a supportive and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the management of residential conveyancing transactions from instruction through to completion
- Opening new client files and carrying out conflict checks and ID verification procedures
- Preparing and maintaining electronic and paper files
- Liaising with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders and other solicitors throughout the transaction process
- Preparing correspondence and legal documentation
- Updating and maintaining the firm's case management system
- Supporting fee earners with day-to-day case progression
- Managing post, filing and general administrative duties
- Ensuring transactions progress efficiently and clients receive excellent service throughout
Candidate Requirements
- A minimum of 6 months' experience within a Residential Conveyancing department
- Previous experience as a Conveyancing Assistant, Legal Assistant or Paralegal
- Strong understanding of the residential conveyancing process
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A professional and confident telephone manner
- Strong client care skills and a proactive approach to service delivery
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, Teams and Excel
- Experience using legal case management systems, with digital dictation experience being advantageous
- A motivated and enthusiastic approach with a genuine interest in progressing within residential property law
