An established and well-regarded accountancy and tax practice based in South East London is seeking an experienced Practice Manager to oversee the operational, financial and compliance functions of the firm. This is a senior, hands-on role working closely with the partners to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the practice while supporting strategic growth and maintaining high standards of client service.

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the practice, ensuring efficient workflows and processes
  • Work closely with partners on strategic planning, financial performance and business growth
  • Monitor WIP, billing, debtors and key performance indicators
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR, AML regulations and professional standards
  • Manage client onboarding and maintain strong client relationships
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients and HMRC
  • Conduct client tax review meetings and identify value-added opportunities
  • Prepare or oversee the preparation of VAT returns, year-end accounts, corporate and personal tax returns
  • Manage payroll and CIS delivery through the team
  • Review client profitability and engagement suitability
  • Support and oversee audit assignments, ensuring compliance with auditing standards
  • Act as Responsible Individual (RI) where applicable, or work towards RI status with full partner support
  • Identify operational efficiencies
