The Role
As a Technical Sales Representative – Wood Sector, you will be responsible for developing and growing sales across your region. You’ll focus on both new business development (hunting) and account management (farming), working in line with sector strategies and the wider business plan. This is a field-based role offering autonomy, strong support, and the opportunity to earn bonuses by delivering against sales and project targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive sales within the Wood Sector across your assigned region
- Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities
- Grow and strengthen existing customer relationships
- Actively promote and expand our client’s product range within customer accounts
- Present, demonstrate, and sell abrasive sanding systems
- Build strong regional relationships through networking and engagement
- Maintain and develop national account customers at regional level
- Attend exhibitions, trade shows, and industry events
- Ensure CRM and reporting tools are kept accurate and up to date
- Participate in training and development programmes
- Ensure all work meets our client’s professional and quality standards

You will be comfortable working with systems and processes and have an analytical, organised approach.

About You
- Proven sales experience, ideally within the UK Wood Sector
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Confident with administration, IT systems, and reporting tools
- Self-motivated, target-driven, and comfortable working independently

The role requires the employee to be physically capable of:
- Driving between 30-40,000 miles p.a.
- Staying away 1 – 2 nights per week on a Regional and National basis
- Ability to present to a senior management level
- Lifting heavy items in and out of company vehicles
- Manning trade and exhibition stands for consecutive days
- Handling and demonstrating power tools, abrasives and polishes
- Walking around customer / end-user premises and sites
