Location – Suitable for anyone in the UK, willing to visit the office typically once per week / fortnight. The Role We are working on behalf of our well established client to identify a high calibre Business Development Manager. In this role your expertise will be pivotal in shaping the commercial growth of the business. This role requires a seasoned sales professional with a proven track record of selling highly technical products and services into Tier1 and Tier 2 suppliers to a variety of markets, ideally with subcontracted supply of production electronics experience. Candidates with experience of supplying into the Defence, Instrumentation, systems monitoring and Lab Equipment sectors will find their skills particularly advantageous. Your familiarity with the UK’s electronics manufacturing sector and your established network of senior management contacts will serve as a solid foundation for delivering exceptional results. The Ideal Candidate Candidates should have extensive experience in selling to blue chip manufacturing companies, for example aerospace, defence, high level instrumentation suppliers, that have a requirement for PCBAs and/or full box build. The key skill we are looking for is the ability to identify and develop business opportunities to allow our client to achieve its growth targets in these and similar markets. The Company Our client is one of the UK’s leading contract manufacturing companies. Their business is focused on low and medium volume manufacturing in the contract electronics manufacturing arena. They service a variety of Industrial, Automotive, Aerospace and Defence markets, with knowledge of Digital, Analogue, RF and mechanical disciplines. Their technically advanced and complex products supply a rich variety of markets on a Global basis. Essential Skills and Experience * Extensive experience in business development, sales, or a related role, with a proven track record of acquiring new business that is both profitable and on-going * Proven track record of managing the entire sales cycle from lead generation to contract award. * Experience in market research and analysis, with the ability to report findings effectively. * Prospecting and Lead Generation: Ability to identify and acquire new qualified leads in both current and new markets. * Sales Management: Skilled in managing opportunities from lead, RFQ to contract award. * Bid Management: Experience in contributing to bid management and analysing reasons for wins and losses. * Sales Forecasting: Capable of providing realistic sales order forecasts with supportive evidence. * Customer Engagement: Strong interpersonal skills to instigate and manage meetings with potential and current customers, both on-site and off-site. * Event Participation: Willingness to attend customer meetings, company exhibitions and trade events, and assist with event planning. Desirable Skills and Experience * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field. * Professional certifications in sales or business development (e.g., Certified Business Development Professional) are advantageous. * Market Analysis: Proficient in undertaking market research and analysis, and providing insightful reports. * Social Media Utilization: Proficient in using social media for selling opportunities, networking, and building business relationships
