Working Pattern: 3 Days a week, 28.5 hours, Monday - Saturday

The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s leading providers of non-surgical cancer treatment, caring for a population of 2.4 million people. Our flagship specialist cancer hospital in Liverpool opened in June 2020, supported by our hospital on Clatterbridge in Wirral providing outpatient cancer treatment and supportive care, and our radiotherapy treatment centre on the Aintree Hospital site.

Main duties of the job:

• We are looking for enthusiastic Band 6 SACT trained nurses to work at our CCC - Liverpool site in the Chemotherapy Treatment Unit.
• You will embark on a programme of dual training for both Oncology and Haematology systemic anticancer treatments.
• You must be highly motivated and willing to undergo training in the Haematology and chemotherapy fields.
• As we deliver treatments in sector hubs and clinics across the Wirral and Liverpool, there will be an element of cross cover required during training and once training has been completed.

This will include travelling to all of our peripheral sites:

• CCC Private Unit Liverpool
• Clatterbridge in the Community

The successful applicant will support the team in a leadership role. You are required to be fully SACT trained with relevant SACT experience. You will support and educate junior staff and participate with educating and assessing.

Qualifications:

• 1st level registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
• Degree in healthcare related subject.
• UKONS SACT Passport or NM6 995 Chemotherapy Administrations and Care.
• Evidence of continued professional development.
• Recognised teaching qualification.
• MSc Clinical Examination.
• MSc Clinical Diagnostics.
• NM6 999 Foundations in Cancer Care.
• NM6 998 Cancer Treatments and Care.
• NM6 996 Chemotherapy Principles and Care.
• Advanced Communications skills training.

Knowledge:

• Knowledge of various drugs and their interactions and side effects.
• Knowledge of NMC code of conduct.

Experience:

• Competent in the delivery of all SACT.
• Previous experience in Solid Tumour and/or Haemato-oncology.
• Leadership and management experience.
• Experience of audit and research.

The cost of processing a new DBS application is met by the successful applicant. DBS costs are recovered via salary deduction following commencement in post. It is a Trust recommendation that candidates requiring a DBS check subscribe to the DBS Update Service.
