An exciting opportunity exists for the appropriately skilled and experienced candidate to join the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, as the Outpatient Department (OPD) Manager.
Main duties of the job
- The post holder will be responsible for the planning, co-ordination and operational management of the OPD activity and patient flow.
- Ensuring the delivery of evidenced based, patient centred and high quality care.
- Incident, risk and complaint management.
- Recruitment and development of staff.
- Ensure department compliance with statutory and mandatory training requirements.
- Proactive management of performance, conduct and attendance concerns in line with Trust policies.
- Service development and improvement.
- Creation of SOPs, policies and processes.
- Care, maintenance and complication management of central vascular access devices.
- Compliance with infection, prevention and control policies.
- Data interpretation and presentation.
- Informal and formal teaching / training.

Qualifications
- 1st Level Registered Nurse (Adult).
- First level degree in related subject.
- Post-basic qualification in cancer/palliative care or relevant subject.
- Evidence of continued professional development.
- Advanced Communications Skills Training or prepared to work towards Management Qualification.
- Recognised teaching / mentorship qualification.
Knowledge and Expertise
- Knowledge of Cancer, treatment modalities and services.
- Role of Charities and partnership working in the NHS.
- NHS structures and functions.
Experience
- Relevant post registration experience, at Band 6 or above, in cancer, or the speciality.
- Experience of teaching.
- Leadership and management experience.
- Experience of multi-professional working.
