An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Gynaecology oncology Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our Gynaecology oncology specialist Nursing team at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre. This role is based at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre in Liverpool; however, you will be required to travel between our network hospital sites.
The post holder will support the team delivering nurse‑led services for patients receiving treatment with chemotherapy, immunotherapy and radiotherapy. You should possess excellent communication and advanced clinical skills, be highly motivated and ideally have a background in cancer nursing. The post holder will provide specialist advice and support to patients experiencing the side effects associated with treatment, as well as providing education and support to staff throughout the trust.
The successful applicant must be motivated and enthusiastic about the specialist care needs of this patient group. They should be able to demonstrate advanced communication skills, organisational and multi‑tasking skills and have the ability to prioritise effectively and efficiently in a busy and fast‑paced working environment. The successful applicant must demonstrate an ability to support, teach, develop and educate others and possess good leadership skills. They should be able to work autonomously and as part of a strong multidisciplinary team in order to maintain and deliver a high quality of care.

- Practice autonomously with a high level of accountability at an advanced clinical level in the direct delivery of high‑quality care, making critical clinical decisions based on advanced clinical skills assessment, diagnosis and treatment within an agreed scope of practice.
- Order investigations and prescribe medications within the capacity of non‑medical prescribing.
- Plan and manage complete episodes of care, working in partnership with others and delegating and referring as appropriate to optimise health outcomes and resource use, as well as providing direct support to patients and clients.
- Advocate and contribute to the development of an organisational culture that supports continuous learning and development, evidence‑based practice and succession planning.
- Provide clear leadership and direction to support both medical and nursing teams, acting as a role model for the Trust and presenting a positive image to patients and staff.
- Critically engage in research activity, adhering to good research practice guidance, so that evidence‑based strategies are developed and applied to enhance quality, safety, productivity and value for money.

- Qualifications
- MSc in Advanced Nursing Practice/ACP
- Non‑Medical prescribing qualification with portfolio supporting attainment of competency
- Recognised Leadership qualification
- Evidence of continued professional development
- Advanced Communications Skills training
- Recognised Teaching qualification
- Post‑basic qualification in cancer/palliative care or relevant subject
- Advanced Life Support qualification (only ANPs who participate in MET cover)
- IO needle insertion (only ANPs who participate in MET cover)
- Experience of working in an oncology setting
- Previous chemotherapy experience
- Research Qualification
- Psychological skills training
- Level 2 training or above
Knowledge and Expertise
- Highly motivated and experienced practitioner with substantive range of experience within cancer care
- Broad & advanced knowledge of clinical pathophysiology
- Sound level of knowledge in relation to invasive and non‑invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
- Knowledge of national standards, policies and working knowledge of clinical governance
- Understanding of evidence based practice and ability to critically appraise and implement research findings into practice.
