Job overview:
This role is working Monday - Friday 8am-6pm on a shift basis with occasional Bank Holidays. An exciting opportunity has arisen in Clatterbridge Cancer Centre - Wirral for a motivated and proactive individual to become part of a busy and friendly appointment team. The role can often be varied and complex but with a high level of job satisfaction.
The role requires the candidate to be a good team player as the successful candidate will be joining a large administration and clerical group with good peer group support. The role will also offer the candidate opportunities to learn new skills within the Admin Services Department and variety in their day-to-day activities.
The post holder will also be responsible for ensuring patients are communicated with in a timely manner. Excellent administration skills, with a good knowledge of Microsoft applications and experience of working with patient records and using multiple hospital databases and software is advantageous.
Main duties of the job:
- Scheduling of complex Computer Planning and Radiotherapy appointment booking as per protocols
- Ensure appropriate administrative actions for Computer Planning and Radiotherapy Booking are completed whilst achieving our Key Performance Indicators
- Communicate with patients regarding appointments liaising with Clinicians and other clinical teams regarding complex cases - via telephone, text service & email and deal with barriers to understanding
- Change, amend and cancel appointments at the request of the appropriate teams and patients
- Allow early opportunity to escalate capacity issues in accordance with pathway targets
- Organise interpreters where needed for patient Planning and Radiotherapy appointments
- Maintain and improve own skills by undertaking appropriate training and development opportunities relevant to the post.
- Maintain and ensure 100% compliance with all mandatory training using ESR

Qualifications:
- GCSE Qualifications in Maths & English at Grade C or above
- Vocational Qualification Level 3
Knowledge & expertise:
- Knowledge of a range of administration systems
- Experience in an office environment
- Front of house experience in a customer service area
- Previous office experience
