We are working with a high school in Hounslow who are seeking an outstanding and motivated Head of Girls’ PE to support the leadership and development of Physical Education across the school. The successful candidate will help drive high-quality teaching, raise student achievement, and promote a strong extra-curricular sporting programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership
- Support the Head of PE in leading, managing and developing the department
- Monitor and improve teaching and learning in PE
- Help coordinate extra-curricular sports provision
- Contribute to staff development, recruitment and performance management
- Teaching & Learning
- Teach PE across all key stages, including KS5 (CTEC Sport & Physical Activity)
- Track student progress and ensure high achievement
- Support curriculum development and effective assessment practices
- Assessment & Reporting
- Mark and assess student work in line with school policy
- Maintain accurate records and provide reports
- Attend parents’ evenings and communicate student progress
- Pastoral (Tutor Role)
- Lead a tutor group, supporting students’ academic and personal development
- Monitor attendance and wellbeing
- Additional Duties
- Contribute to school life, meetings and events
- Uphold behaviour, safeguarding and equality policies
- Engage in ongoing professional development
- Build partnerships with governors, schools and external agencies
