We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and caring part time (6 sessions) or full time (8-9 sessions) salaried GP to join our friendly and patient focused team. We welcome applications from both newly qualified and experienced GPs. Clarkson Surgery is a traditional family and patient-focused Practice based in Wisbech with a patient list of over 9,000 patients who aim to provide safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led services.

Main duties of the job:
- Clinical sessions, 1 administrative session per week
- Consultations are a mix of face-to-face and telephone appointments
- Duty doctor responsibility minimum of one on-call day per week
- Home visits occasionally required though infrequent as these are carried out by members of our advanced ACP/ANP team
- Reviewing and actioning tasks, administrative queries, blood results, referrals to other services etc.
- Providing clinical supervision to our nursing, ACP/ANP teams during on-call sessions.

Job responsibilities:
- To produce and comply with a work plan developed in partnership with the Partners and Practice Manager to ensure all Practice and other work is delivered appropriately and safely.
- To undertake appropriate clinical risk assessments and work with the wider team to implement management strategies for risks identified.
- To participate in activities required to assess compliance with CQC fundamental standards.
- To provide high quality medical services in the context of general practice to the patients registered with Clarkson Surgery.
- To provide a full range of services in line with the agreed requirements of the Practices NHS contract including the quality and outcomes framework (QOF) and any local enhanced services.
- To provide any services as required for the Primary Care Network agreement including shared QOF standards and service specifications.
- To provide appropriate care and services to patients in all age ranges and levels of health care needs.
- To respond to medical/health problems presented by patients on the registered list including history taking, diagnosis, investigation, treatment and referral as appropriate.
- To provide management of long-term conditions in line with national guidelines and pathways.
- To read and interpret test results ordered by you and other team members taking appropriate action based on the findings.
- To provide appropriate health promotion and preventative health care advice to all patients attending the Practice, enabling self management.
- To prescribe generically for patients as appropriate to need (using our Practice formulary) and provide appropriate clinical rationale with support from the Medicines Management Team.
- To carry out appropriate administrative and other duties in line with the needs of the Practice including referral to other services, maintenance of records, managing registers etc.
- To maintain clinical records either written or computer based in line with professional code and requirements utilising appropriate coding.
- To work in line with appropriate Practice policies and procedures including human resources, safeguarding adults and children etc.
- To undertake appropriate audit in practice to identify clinical quality issues and markers and define processes to improve clinical outcomes.
- To take part in appropriate R&D and audit process with Clarkson Surgery as agreed in line with practice priorities and Partner/Practice management agreement.
- Assist management with maintaining compliance with agreed standards.
- To promote and implement all Practice policies and procedures.
- In the course of your employment, you will have access to confidential information relating to Clarkson Surgery and our patients. You are required to exercise due consideration in processing such information and maintain confidentiality of Clarkson Surgery and our patients.

- To participate in the assessment of the effectiveness of the health care provided by the Practice, such as auditing records by agreement with management.
- To ensure our patient rights are protected.
- To promote and participate in delivering a high standard of care within our Practice.

Person Specification:
- Is currently GMC MRCGP registered
- Has completed a UK VTS training or a working GP in a UK
- Can provide a certificate of completion of training
- Is currently registered on the UK Primary Medical Performers List
- Is able to work in a pressurised environment

- Has a passion for medicine, learning and finding solutions or new ways of working - whatever stage you're at in your career
