Clarendon Academy is looking for a highly-organised and dynamic Exams Officer to provide a comprehensive examinations service to students and staff at its thriving and busy school, which is committed to the academic, personal and social success of its students. Successful candidates must be prepared to work flexibly to accommodate annualised working hours, with start and end times likely to vary during the busy examination seasons.
Working Hours: Annualised / Part time (usual working hours, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 41 weeks per year, includes Teacher Training Days).
Clarendon Academy is a thriving co-educational, non-denominational secondary school and sixth form, educating young people between the ages of 11 and 18. Located in the bustling town of Trowbridge, Wiltshire, we pride ourselves on being a centre of excellence where young, enthusiastic children enter in Year 7 and leave us at the end of Year 13 as fully rounded young adults. Our staff aim for every lesson, every day, to be exceptional and work tirelessly to ensure students feel that they belong and can achieve their dreams. In June 2023 we retained our ‘Good’ Ofsted rating and were praised for offering a high-quality, well sequenced curriculum with the inspectors commenting that “pupils feel safe and cared for in this welcoming and friendly school.”
Supervising our dedicated team of invigilation staff, you will be responsible for the administration and organisation of all aspects of our external and internal examinations, in accordance with the regulations laid down by the awarding bodies.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a passion for delivering high quality and exciting opportunities for young people;
- Has strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) and is able to work with a variety of pupils, staff and parents;
- Has superb attention to detail and organisational skills;
- Holds qualifications at Level 3 (A Levels, or equivalent), including GCSE Maths and English at Grade C or above;
- Is self-motivated, dedicated and consistent;
- Has the ability to deal with new challenging situations;
- Is a strong team player who can use their own initiative;
- Has a positive and flexible attitude and confident personality;
- Has experience of managing a team of people;
- Can work effectively under pressure;
- Has outstanding ICT skills;
- Has experience of work within education.
