Our Senior Estimators work on civil engineering tenders, developing precise and competitive estimates for projects involving:
- Earthworks
- Roads
- Sewers
- Drainage
- Utilities
- Reinforced concrete structures
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing tender requirements, focusing on scope of works
- Attending site visits and collaborating with the Bid and Operational Support Teams
- Coordinating with Estimating Buyer on material costs and subcontractor quotes
- Preparing estimates for self-delivery works and assessing subcontractor quotes for specialist works
- Drafting bid assumptions, qualifications, and exclusions
- Identifying project risks and compiling a risk register
- Attending site visits on live projects to observe and discuss delivery of project in line with tender allowances
Expertise in civil engineering projects, with a focus on Clancy self-delivery works such as:
- Earthworks
- Roadworks
- Kerbing
- Footpaths
- Sewers
- Drainage
- Pipeline construction
- Concrete structures
- Utility installations
Proficiency in Excel and experience using pricing software such as Conquest, Causeway, Candy, or similar is required. Familiarity with key contract terms and conditions, including NEC 4 and JCT ICE, as well as an understanding of measurement methods, particularly regarding rate inclusions, is essential.
