The Role
Ahead of our operational teams arriving at their destination to carry out main laying works, you will be surveying and assessing the immediate and surrounding work area, specifically looking for hazards and blockers and ensuring the correct traffic management is in place from the start. You will carry out checks on existing sites to ensure signage matches the approved drawings, report any missing signs to our traffic management supplier, and record site checks on our system with photos for Highways Authorities. Your specific responsibility is to reduce the number of aborted planned works, ensure our teams only carry out activities if it is safe to do so, that productivity is high, and the overall operation is cost efficient. All work orders should be delivered safely, correctly and on time, and you will be assisting in this objective through excellent planning, communication, and collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring jobs are planned and carried out in accordance with relevant Health & Safety and CDM regulations
- Surveying jobs for the correct traffic management
- Assisting the Planners so they can communicate the correct traffic management for the scheme
- Working with Planners to help communicate the correct traffic management requirements
- Ensure planned jobs go ahead
- Getting advanced warning signs to sites that are due to start as per permit requirements
Qualifications
You will be an experienced supervisor with good all round technical knowledge of the construction and water industry, holding a NRSWA Supervisor qualification, a Lantra Qualification and a thorough understanding of the Streetworks and Traffic Management acts. Blue card qualification is also desirable. If you can demonstrate this, and are looking for a new challenge right now, we would love to hear from you!
