Job Description
P6 Planner Β£60,000 - Β£65,000 DOE Portsmouth
We are Innovative! That's why we need people like you to help us. People who enjoy finding new ways to do things...
We're looking for an experienced P6 Planner to join our Civils team, supporting our strategic watermain projects situated in Hampshire.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced P6 Planner who enjoys being involved throughout the project lifecycle, from developing initial programmes through to supporting delivery teams on site and ensuring successful project completion.
Working closely with Project Managers, delivery teams, subcontractors and key stakeholders, you'll play a key role in developing robust programmes, identifying risks and ensuring works are planned, monitored and delivered effectively.
Here are some of the activities you'll be involved in...
- Develop and maintain robust project programmes through regular engagement with site teams and site visits, ensuring planned activities are progressing as expected and identifying any issues or opportunities early.
- Deliver insightful programme reporting, including progress updates, critical path analysis, risks, opportunities and programme impacts, while supporting the commercial team with compensation event assessments.
- Collaborate with project and site teams through progress and coordination meetings, providing clear lookahead plans that drive short-term priorities and support overall project success.
We would love to hear from you if...
You bring proven planning experience within civil engineering, utilities, construction or infrastructure, ideally working for a delivery contractor where you've played a key role in turning plans into successful project outcomes. We'd be especially keen to hear from you if you have a background in Site Engineering, Site Delivery or Project Delivery, giving you a practical understanding of what it takes to deliver safely, efficiently and on time.
Experience within the water, wastewater, drainage or wider utilities sector would be highly valued, along with a strong appreciation of construction methodologies, project sequencing and working within live operational environments.
You'll be a proactive problem solver who can see the bigger picture, identifying risks early, adapting to change and developing solutions that keep projects moving forward. With a keen eye for detail, you'll produce and maintain robust, accurate programmes that support successful delivery from preconstruction through to completion.
Alongside this, you'll have a solid understanding of programme management and NEC contracts, with the confidence to build strong relationships and work collaboratively with project teams, subcontractors, clients and stakeholders to deliver exceptional results.
You'll have extensive experience using Primavera P6, including developing cost and resource loaded programmes to an advanced level, together with a good working knowledge of MS Project.
A full and valid UK driving licence is essential.
