Are you a passionate and experienced workshop plant mechanic or fitter, eager to keep construction equipment in top condition? We want you to bring your expertise to our growing team, where your skills will make a real difference-and you\’ll be appreciated for it.
Here are some of the activities you will be involved in
- Service, maintain, and repair a wide variety of construction plant assets and towable equipment
- Diagnose faults using specialist equipment and perform prompt and effective repairs
- Carry out regular inspections of machines and components to ensure safety and reliability
- Log all work digitally using a tablet, including maintenance reports and compliance images
- Plan and prioritize tasks in collaboration with the workshop supervisor and team
- Attend emergency breakdowns on site when necessary to minimize disruptions
- Deliver excellent customer service to both colleagues and clients
We would love to hear from you if
The ideal candidate will hold an NVQ Level 2 or above in Plant, Mechanical, or Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or an equivalent recognized qualification) and have at least two to three years of hands-on experience in a similar workshop environment.
Proven skills in diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance of plant machinery and equipment are essential, alongside confidence in reading and interpreting technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
Familiarity with health, safety, and compliance requirements in a workshop setting is important, as is proficiency with workshop tools, equipment, and digital technology systems—particularly for recording inspections and maintenance via tablet. Experience with capturing images for compliance, specialist training from manufacturers, or expertise with hydraulic, electrical, or electronic systems would be a distinct advantage.
A full, clean UK driving licence is required. Candidates who hold a forklift or telehandler licence, have mentored junior technicians, or possess knowledge of lean or continuous improvement practices are especially encouraged to apply.
