We are innovative. That's why we need people like you to help us. People who enjoy finding new ways to solve problems and get things done. We have an opportunity for a qualified Senior Health & Safety Advisor to join our team working with our client HS2. This is a key role supporting our operational teams to deliver work safely, consistently and in line with best practice H&S standards.

You'll play a hands-on role across multiple sites, working closely with teams on the ground to provide practical, engaging and effective safety support. This isn't a desk-based advisory role - you'll be out on site, building relationships, understanding day-to-day challenges and helping to shape solutions that genuinely work in practice.

Here are some of the activities you will be involved in:

  • Carrying out regular site inspections and supporting safe systems of work
  • Leading and supporting accident and incident investigations
  • Advising operational teams on health and safety requirements and improvements
  • Promoting positive safety behaviours through engagement and site presence
  • Delivering ABC tours (Attitude, Behaviour and Culture)
  • Encouraging safety observations and hazard reporting across sites
  • Identifying gaps in H&S processes and supporting improvements to systems and procedures
  • Supporting tenders and bids with health and safety input
  • Communicating legislative changes and supporting implementation of new practices
  • Working with teams to ensure safe working conditions across varied site environments

We would love to hear from you if you are an experienced Health & Safety professional with a strong operational background and the ability to influence and engage teams at all levels. You'll be confident working in fast-paced environments and comfortable operating across multiple sites. You’ll have a strong understanding of current HSE legislation, along with at least 3-5 years’ experience in a similar advisory role within construction, utilities or infrastructure.

A NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent) is essential, along with Tech IOSH membership, with progression towards Grad IOSH or equivalent desirable. Strong communication skills are key, along with a practical, solutions-focused approach and good IT skills including Microsoft Office and database systems.

In addition to helping you reach your career goals, a competitive salary, pension, healthcare and holiday allowance starting at 24-26 days per annum, we also offer perks including Clancy Xtras, our employee benefits programme with discounts for numerous well-known retailers such as Tesco, Sainsbury's, Currys PC World and Vue Cinemas, cycle to work scheme as well as an Employee Assistance Programme.

Clancy is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all our employees. If you require any reasonable adjustments to be made for you to attend an interview, please do let us know and we will be happy to accommodate. We are proud signatories of the Armed Forces Covenant and Disability Confident Committed.
