We're looking for an enthusiastic and organised ESG Coordinator to join our Sustainability team, supporting the delivery and development of our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) programme. This is a great opportunity for someone with an interest in sustainability and responsible business practices who is looking to develop their experience across carbon management, environmental performance, ESG reporting and social value.

You'll play an important role in helping us monitor our progress against environmental and social commitments, working with colleagues across the business to gather information, coordinate activities and support the delivery of our sustainability objectives. Working closely with the Sustainability team, you'll help manage ESG data, support reporting and compliance requirements, coordinate stakeholder engagement and contribute to initiatives that make a positive difference across our business and the wider communities in which we work.

Here are some of the activities you'll be involved in:

  • Collecting, managing and analysing Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 carbon emissions data.
  • Assisting with carbon footprint reporting and identifying opportunities to reduce emissions.
  • Monitoring environmental performance, including energy, fuel, waste and water consumption.
  • Helping deliver environmental campaigns and sustainability awareness activities across the business.
  • Coordinating ESG working groups, meetings and action trackers, ensuring actions and progress are recorded and followed up.
  • Liaising with colleagues, suppliers and external stakeholders to gather ESG information, data and supporting evidence.
  • Engaging with suppliers on sustainability matters, including ESG questionnaires and information requests.
  • Working alongside operational teams to encourage the adoption of sustainability initiatives and good practice.
  • Maintaining accurate records and evidence for audits, certifications and external assessments.
  • Contributing to reporting requirements associated with frameworks and standards such as EcoVadis, SECR, Carbon Reduction Plans and climate-related disclosures.
  • Helping maintain and develop sustainability policies, procedures and reporting standards.
  • Preparing sustainability communications, case studies and internal updates.
  • Tracking social value initiatives and associated reporting requirements.
  • Collating sustainability information and preparing materials for client reports, bids and wider business updates.

We would love to hear from you if:

  • You have strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate activities and work to deadlines.
  • You're a confident communicator who enjoys working with different people across a business, building relationships and gathering information from a range of stakeholders.
  • You have a genuine interest in sustainability, ESG and responsible business practices, together with the enthusiasm to learn and develop your knowledge in this area.
  • You're comfortable working with data and information, ensuring records are accurate and well maintained, and can communicate findings clearly to others.
  • Previous experience within sustainability, environmental management or ESG reporting would be beneficial, along with an understanding of carbon accounting and greenhouse gas emissions reporting.
  • Knowledge of frameworks and standards such as EcoVadis, ISO 14064 and SECR would also be advantageous.
  • Experience within construction, infrastructure, utilities or engineering would be useful, as would membership of ISEP or another relevant professional body.
  • A degree, apprenticeship or equivalent experience in Sustainability, Environmental Management, Geography, Business or a related discipline would be desirable but is not essential.
  • An ISEP Foundation Certificate or an equivalent sustainability qualification would also be advantageous.
  • A full UK driving licence is also required.

You'll be joining a team where you can continue to develop your knowledge and experience, with opportunities for ongoing professional development, training and support towards relevant professional memberships and qualifications.
