We have an opportunity for an experienced Commercial Manager to lead a dynamic team and play a key role within our Southern Water contract in Falmer. This is a chance to work closely with our client, ensuring commercial success, managing risk, and driving profitability. As Commercial Manager, you will sit at the heart of our operations, providing strong commercial leadership across contracts and supporting the successful delivery of business objectives.
Here are some of the activities you will be involved in:
- Supporting and developing a team of Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Administrators
- Providing commercial leadership across contracts, ensuring full compliance with contractual rights and obligations
- Shaping and implementing commercial strategies to drive performance and profitability
- Managing budgets, cost controls, and overall financial performance
- Overseeing contract negotiations and securing commercially favourable terms
- Leading cost value reconciliation processes and effective cash flow management
- Resolving complex contractual matters, including claims and disputes
- Ensuring subcontractor agreements are commercially sound and aligned with business objectives
We would love to hear from you if you are an experienced commercial professional with a strong background in commercial management within the utilities sector. You will have significant leadership experience, with a proven ability to manage, mentor, and develop high-performing commercial teams.
You will bring a deep understanding of NEC3 contracts, particularly Options A and C, supported by strong financial and commercial acumen. You will be confident managing project profitability and risk, with excellent analytical, negotiation, planning, and problem-solving skills.
Additionally, you will be a clear and confident communicator, capable of presenting complex commercial information to stakeholders at all levels. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, you will be resourceful, resilient, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a strategic focus and strong attention to detail.
