This is a standalone role and will involve driving vacuum trucks to and from site, operating the equipment, maintaining machinery, and ensuring all work is carried out in line with safety regulations and company standards.
Here are some of the activities you will be involved in:
- Safely and efficiently operating vacuum excavation trucks and related equipment.
- Driving to and from job sites in line with road and transport regulations.
- Reading and interpreting site drawings, plans, and utility markings.
- Ensuring underground utilities are protected during excavation works.

- Completing required documentation, including job reports and safety checklists.
- Communicating clearly with site supervisors, ground crews, and clients.
- Following company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines at all times.
- Assisting with site setup and cleanup where required.
We would love to hear from you if:
- You have previous experience working as an HGV and vacuum excavator driver/operator and hold a full HGV Class 2 licence (Category C).
- A suction excavator CPCS qualification and/or EUSR qualification would be highly beneficial.
- A good understanding of commercial driving regulations and safety standards is essential for this role.
- Mechanical knowledge would be advantageous, allowing you to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues while on the road.
- Excellent communication skills are important, as you will be working closely with clients and team members, and you will need to be able to work independently, managing your time effectively to meet deadlines.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work in a physically demanding environment will also help you to succeed in this role.
This position would suit a Category 3 HGV Driver who will operate the vacuum excavator to assist with no-dig repair and maintenance activities, ensuring essential works are carried out safely and efficiently.
