  • Attend site visits with the bid team.

  • Support with preparing Bills of Quantities (BoQs) and take‑offs from drawings.
  • Work closely with design, procurement and project delivery teams to ensure estimates align with project scope and methodology, including agreeing and signing off resource requirements and outputs.
  • Contribute to value engineering exercises to identify cost‑saving opportunities.
  • Maintain an organised database of supplier rates, historical project costs and benchmarking data.
  • Assist in post‑tender reviews and handovers to project teams.

We would love to hear from you if…

  • You’ll bring strong numerical, analytical and problem‑solving skills, along with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • You’ll have an interest in understanding construction drawings and specifications and be willing to learn how to interpret these with the support of the team.
  • A logical and methodical approach will help you get to grips with take‑offs and quantity reviews as your experience grows.
  • Any exposure to site environments or the built environment—through placements, university projects or work experience—would be helpful but isn’t essential.
  • You’ll be proficient in Microsoft Excel, and comfortable using Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Awareness of programming or scheduling tools, such as Microsoft Project, would be beneficial.
  • Strong communication, teamwork and organisational skills are important, along with an interest in utilities infrastructure and how networks are built and maintained.
  • Most importantly, you’ll be keen to learn and develop as part of a structured training and mentoring programme, with the confidence to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
  • A full, clean UK driving licence is also required.

Please note that we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role. All candidates must have the full right to work in the UK without restriction and without a need for sponsorship either now or in the future.
