We\’re looking for a Development Services Technician to join the Anglian Water Alliance. Reporting to the DS Field Manager, you\’ll be the first point of contact with customers and play a key role in supporting our Development Services Scheme Delivery and Connections teams.

This is a varied role where you\’ll combine technical knowledge of the water network with excellent customer service, ensuring our customers receive clear, helpful guidance throughout their journey.

Here are some of the activities you will be involved in

  • Carrying out on-site surveys and inspections of mains, service pipework and private supply pipes.
  • Locating utilities using drawings, tracing equipment and mobile technology to support future works.
  • Passing or failing inspections in line with Water Regulations and advising on corrective actions where required.
  • Identifying traffic management and site access requirements.
  • Recording accurate data, measurements, photographs and site information in real time.
  • Liaising with customers, colleagues, contractors and other utilities to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Supporting the delivery of schemes and customer jobs to meet Level of Service (LOS) targets.

We would love to hear from you if

You have a solid understanding of the water network, including mains and service pipework, and can bring both technical expertise and practical know-how to the role. Just as importantly, you are able to deliver outstanding customer service, explaining technical information in a clear and reassuring way.

You will be confident working independently, managing your own workload effectively and keeping things moving in a fast-paced environment. You\’ll also be comfortable using IT systems and mobile devices to capture and record information accurately while out on-site. Above all, you will take a proactive approach, spotting potential risks early, resolving issues where possible and ensuring that work is carried out to the highest standards, first time.
