We are seeking a Senior Estimator to join our dynamic team due to our business expansion. Our Senior Estimators work on civil engineering tenders, developing precise and competitive estimates for projects involving earthworks, roads, sewers, drainage, utilities, and reinforced concrete structures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing tender requirements, focusing on scope of works, attending site visits, and collaborating with the Bid and Operational Support Teams.
- Coordinating with the Estimating Buyer on material costs and subcontractor quotes.
- Preparing estimates for self-delivery works and assessing subcontractor quotes for specialist works.
- Drafting bid assumptions, qualifications, and exclusions, and identifying project risks while compiling a risk register.
- Attending site visits on live projects to observe and discuss delivery of the project in line with tender allowances.
Expertise in civil engineering projects is essential, particularly in Clancy self-delivery works such as earthworks, roadworks, kerbing, footpaths, sewers, drainage, pipeline construction, concrete structures, and utility installations. Proficiency in Excel and experience using pricing software such as Conquest, Causeway, Candy, or similar is required. Familiarity with key contract terms and conditions, including NEC 4 and JCT ICE, as well as an understanding of measurement methods, particularly regarding rate inclusions, is also necessary.
