We are seeking a Senior Estimator to join our dynamic team due to business expansion. Our Senior Estimators work on civil engineering tenders, developing precise and competitive estimates for projects involving earthworks, roads, sewers, drainage, utilities, and reinforced concrete structures.
- Review tender requirements, focusing on scope of works, attending site visits and collaborating with the Bid and Operational Support Teams.
- Coordinate with Estimating Buyer on material costs and subcontractor quotes.
- Prepare estimates for self-delivery works and assess subcontractor quotes for specialist works.
- Draft bid assumptions, qualifications, and exclusions and identify project risks, compiling a risk register.
- Attend site visits on live projects to observe and discuss delivery of the project in line with tender allowances.
Expertise in civil engineering projects, with a focus on Clancy self-delivery works such as earthworks, roadworks, kerbing, footpaths, sewers, drainage, pipeline construction, concrete structures, and utility installations is required. Proficiency in Excel and experience using pricing software such as Conquest, Causeway, Candy, or similar is essential. Familiarity with key contract terms and conditions, including NEC 4 and JCT ICE, as well as an understanding of measurement methods, particularly regarding rate inclusions, is also necessary.
