We have an opportunity for an Excavation Operative to join our team working within the Anglian Water Alliance. Based out of Corby, you will also be working across operational sites in Bourne and Northampton, supporting the delivery of essential water infrastructure works. This role plays a key part in supporting planned and reactive works on the wastewater network, working alongside an experienced team leader to deliver both planned and unplanned repairs and maintenance activities. The role may also include minor civils works as part of the wider delivery of network improvements.

Activities you will be involved in:

  • Carrying out safe excavation and reinstatement works on water and wastewater assets
  • Working on the wastewater network alongside an experienced team leader on planned and reactive repairs and maintenance
  • Supporting minor civils works where required as part of operational delivery
  • Assisting with the installation, repair and maintenance of network infrastructure
  • Working as part of a gang alongside operatives, supervisors and engineers
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in line with health, safety and environmental standards
  • Operating plant and equipment where appropriately trained and authorised
  • Assisting with locating and exposing underground utilities safely
  • Supporting reinstatement of sites including backfilling and surface repairs
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and compliant working environment
  • Working closely with the wider delivery team to support programme performance

We would love to hear from you if you have experience working in civils, utilities or construction environments, ideally within water or infrastructure delivery. A good understanding of safe excavation practices and working around live services is important. You'll be a reliable team player with a strong focus on health and safety, quality and getting the job done right first time. A proactive attitude and willingness to work outdoors in a fast-paced operational environment are essential. A valid CSCS card is required, and any additional tickets such as NRSWA, plant tickets or previous utilities experience would be highly advantageous. A full UK driving licence is a must due to travel between Corby, Bourne and Northampton sites.
