As partners with SGN, we seek a skilled Project Manager to lead and develop multiple projects within our energy business unit. The role includes leading the pre‑construction phases, developing working methodology and sequencing, managing feasibility studies, design, and transition into construction.
Responsibilities
- Manage all project work to ensure successful completion in accordance with safety, technical, and legislative policies, and deliver within the P6 programme, cost, and quality targets.
- Undertake site visits and attend kick‑off meetings; monitor progress and provide regular updates.
- Liaise and coordinate with clients, senior management, and stakeholders to meet key programme dates.
- Execute project execution plans following the delivery strategy.
- Demonstrate visual leadership, promote Clancy and client behaviour, and maintain proactive relationships with SGN.
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors, ensuring delivery to time, cost and quality.
- Monitor and collate information throughout the pre‑construction phase; ensure handover to the delivery team upon project completion.
- Support estimating team in producing construction programmes, prices, risk registers, and initial CDM/safety documentation.
- Support consenting teams in developing stakeholder management and consenting plans.
- Support commercial teams to maintain cost control and administer project commercials under NEC contracts.
Qualifications & Experience
- Contractual experience (ideally NEC).
- Experience in gas and utilities.
- Significant technical and practical experience in project management within the utilities sector.
- Detailed understanding of the gas industry.
- Experience using Primavera P6.
- Experience handling Excel data.
- Excellent communication skills; ability to analyse problems and offer solutions.
