We're looking for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join our team supporting our HS2 contract. This is an excellent opportunity to use your expertise in a hands‑on role, partnering with operational teams to promote safe working practices and drive continuous improvement across a key sector contract. This is not a desk-based role. You'll be out on site, building relationships, providing practical advice, and helping teams deliver work safely and efficiently.

Here are some of the activities you will be involved in:

  • Carrying out site inspections and audits
  • Advising operational teams and supporting the setting of safety objectives
  • Supporting accident and incident investigations
  • Contributing health and safety input into tenders and bids
  • Identifying opportunities to improve systems and processes
  • Developing initiatives and sharing best practice
  • Carrying out ABC tours (Attitude, Behaviour and Culture)
  • Encouraging proactive hazard reporting and positive safety behaviours

We would love to hear from you if you have significant experience in a Health & Safety advisory role and enjoy working closely with operational teams to provide practical, solutions-focused support. You’ll have a strong understanding of current health and safety legislation and ideally experience within utilities, water, civil engineering or a similar operational environment. A NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or equivalent) is essential, along with Tech IOSH membership (or working towards Graduate IOSH). A full UK driving licence is required due to the site-based nature of the role.
