Job Overview
You have probably seen the work of our traffic management business and our safety conscious traffic management operatives, who are responsible for helping commuters to travel safely through temporary roadworks. Traffic Management Operatives deliver, install, collect, exchange and maintain temporary traffic equipment (temporary traffic lights, signage, frames, sandbags and cones).
Responsibilities
- Checking equipment and systems are fit for use and fully operational
- Recording any damage
- Maintaining battery banks
- Assisting with the loading and unloading of delivery vehicles
- Managing checklists
- Completing timesheets and risk assessments
- Ensuring vehicles, tools and other equipment are maintained and ready to use
- Assist with maintaining a safe, tidy and clean yard
Qualifications
A full and valid UK driving licence is required, along with great communication skills and a ‘can do’ attitude. Working in and on highways can be dangerous, so an appreciation of why we always operate safely, don’t take risks or short cuts is essential. Some experience of working in a similar role or in a safety critical environment is important. Tickets such as Lantra, TTMBC and Streetworks are not essential, as full training will be given.
Working Hours & Compensation
Hours: 07:30 – 17:00. Contract: Permanent, Full Time. Pay: £12.71 – £14.21 plus van and fuel card, bonus & standby. Overtime: Overtime paid after 9 hours Mon-Fri. Sat, Sun & callout are all paid at overtime rate.
