Responsibilities
- Carrying out setting out and other engineering activities as directed by the Site Manager.
- Checking Inspection Test Plans and ensuring site installations meet specifications.
- Monitoring quality control procedures and maintaining accurate records.
- Supporting the Site Manager in resolving technical challenges and promoting safe working practices in line with Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental standards.
- Ensuring all equipment is correctly calibrated, maintained, and compliant.
- Providing input into construction programmes and project planning.
- Supporting progress reporting, material reconciliation, and KPI updates.
- Contributing to continual improvement of site operations and sharing best practice.
- Applying experience in CDM and making engineering decisions and judgements on design and safe operation of site activities.
Qualifications
- You’ll ideally hold a degree or apprenticeship in civil engineering (or equivalent) and have hands-on experience in setting out, surveying, and interpreting drawings.
- You’ll also be comfortable producing inspection and test plans, risk assessments, and method statements, ensuring that all work is carried out safely and to specification.
- A good understanding of health and safety practices, quality control, and commercial awareness will be key to your success in this role, as will competence in CAD and general IT systems.
- Experience working on large civil engineering or utilities projects would be highly advantageous, along with developed knowledge of client quality standards and commercial processes.
- A full and valid UK driving licence is essential for this role, and holding a current CSCS card would be an advantage.
