We are looking for an experienced Works Manager to join our team working on the Thames Water framework, delivering clean water mains renewal projects. This is a key role, responsible for overseeing multiple gangs across several sites, driving safety culture, managing resources, and supporting the Operations Manager with the planning and delivery of current and future works.
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing daily site operations across multiple work fronts, coordinating labour, plant, and materials
- Leading and supporting teams to deliver high-quality mains renewal works safely and efficiently
- Driving a strong health and safety culture, ensuring full compliance with client, company, and legislative requirements
- Managing site documentation including RAMS, ITPs, lift plans, temporary works, and site diaries
- Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to maintain progress and resolve site issues
- Supporting commercial activities, including early warnings, variations, progress reporting, and cost control
- Monitoring quality, managing non-conformances, and ensuring works meet specification and NRSWA requirements
You are an experienced Works Manager with a strong background in clean water works, ideally mains renewal. A full, valid UK driving licence is essential, along with relevant qualifications including CSCS, SMSTS, NRSWA Supervisor, First Aid, Water Hygiene, and Service Avoidance. A solid understanding of NEC3 contracts, strong knowledge of health and safety and quality standards, and proven line management experience are essential. You will be confident leading multiple teams across live sites and engaging with clients and stakeholders. Additionally, strong communication and organisational skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to coach and develop teams are key to success in this role.
