- Ensuring trench set-ups, methods, and reinstatement meet specification and quality standards
- Maintaining full compliance with health, safety, environmental, CDM, and Thames Water requirements
- Mentoring, coaching, and supporting operatives to maintain high standards of workmanship
- Checking equipment and plant are fit for use and operated safely
- Liaising with supervisors, planners, engineers, and other stakeholders to support delivery
- Completing site documentation, job records, timesheets, and quality paperwork
- Identifying issues or delays and implementing solutions, escalating where required

You have proven experience leading mains laying or utilities teams within a clean water environment, with a strong understanding of water mains installation standards and safe working practices. You will be confident organising site activities, managing crews, and maintaining high levels of safety and quality on site. A full, clean UK manual driving licence is essential, along with NRSWA Supervisor accreditation. Experience using CAT & Genny, strong health and safety awareness, and familiarity with underground services are required. Tickets such as CPCS/NPORS for relevant plant, CSCS, and other utilities safety qualifications are highly desirable. You will be a positive, practical leader with good communication skills, comfortable working in all weather conditions, and motivated to develop your team while delivering right-first-time results.
