We have an opportunity for an Apprentice Vehicle Mechanic to join our team in Harefield, working alongside experienced mechanics to maintain and repair the vehicles that support our operations across the business.
This is a great opportunity to gain practical experience while working towards a recognised qualification, developing your skills across a wide range of vehicles and mechanical systems.
- Here are some of the activities you will be involved in…
- Supporting experienced mechanics with the inspection, servicing and repair of company vehicles.
- Carrying out routine maintenance and basic mechanical repairs as your skills develop.
- Assisting with diagnosing faults and identifying the cause of mechanical issues.
- Learning how to use a range of mechanical tools and diagnostic equipment safely and correctly.
- Carrying out checks and inspections to ensure vehicles are safe and fit for use.
- Supporting MOT preparation and other statutory inspections where required.
- Maintaining accurate records of work completed and parts used.
- Keeping the workshop, tools and equipment clean, safe and well organised.
- Following company procedures and maintaining high standards of health and safety.
- Working as part of the wider Plant Team and supporting colleagues when required.
- Previous practical experience isn't essential, but an interest in how vehicles work and a willingness to learn are important.
- A practical, hands-on approach and good attention to detail will be key, together with the ability to follow instructions and work safely.
You'll enjoy working as part of a team and be comfortable asking questions and learning from experienced colleagues.
Good communication skills, reliability and a positive attitude are essential, along with a genuine commitment to completing your apprenticeship and developing your skills.
This role is based at our Harefield depot, so you will need to be able to travel to the site.
