Part-time Opportunity for 1st Year Leeds Law Student (Criminal Law Focus)

We are looking for a first-year law student at any of the universities in Leeds with a strong interest in criminal law to take on a paid part-time role (up to 10 hours per week).

The role involves supporting the development of a criminal justice project that will also give you valuable experience to enhance your CV.

The work is designed to fit flexibly around your lectures and social life, with most tasks done from home. Occasional in-person meetings may be needed, but these will be arranged to suit.

Alongside an interest in criminal law, you’ll need:

  • Some knowledge of WordPress and confidence using social media effectively (training and support with WordPress can be given if needed).
  • A genuine interest in current affairs and developments within the criminal justice system.

If you’re interested, please email your CV to craig@cjshub.org.uk along with a short covering email.

In your covering note, please include:

  • The area of law you hope to go into and why.
  • Your experience with IT, particularly WordPress and social media.
  • A few sentences on your thoughts about the criminal justice system — what interests you about it, or what you see as its biggest challenges.
  • Where “home” is for you during university holidays, so we can factor that in when arranging any in-person meetings.

This is a part-time internship in the legal industry.
