VP of Sales
The Company
This role is responsible for overseeing and driving all new business sales activities within the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region, including developing sales strategies, leading sales teams across various countries to achieve ambitious revenue targets, and fostering strong customer relationships.
Working with the full global team, this role requires a relentless engagement strategy of potential customers, starting at the senior board level and continuing throughout a complex enterprise organization. The postholder should be able to easily identify and understand the ‘who’s who’ of an opportunity along with their level of influence and decision-making.
The Specifics
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies aligned with overall company goals for the EMEA region.
- Analyze market trends, competitor landscape, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities.
- Set ambitious sales targets and quotas for the EMEA sales team.
- Recruit, hire, and develop high-performing sales teams across various EMEA countries.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback to sales managers and representatives.
- Foster a culture of accountability and excellence within the sales organization.
- Manage the sales pipeline, ensuring consistent lead generation and conversion.
- Close large, complex deals with key accounts in the EMEA region.
- Monitor sales performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
- Implement and manage effective sales processes and methodologies.
- Optimize sales tools and technology to enhance efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, product, customer success) to ensure seamless customer experience.
What we\’re looking for
- Commercially sharp with strong domain experience in addition to proven experience of structuring large £multi-million deals (£10m+ TCV).
- Proven track record of successful sales leadership in the EMEA region, with experience managing large sales teams across diverse markets.
- Deep understanding of the EMEA business landscape, including cultural nuances and market dynamics.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to build strong customer relationships.
- Strategic thinking and ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies.
- Strong analytical skills to monitor sales performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Fluency in English and other relevant European languages is often required.
- Experience in opening new regions and being part of expanding a business into new countries selling complex software solutions.
- Strong background in customer success – experience working with C-level management to help them grow their business.
- Utility industry experience with an established network in Energy, Retail, Distribution, and Water.
- A client-centric understanding of CRM, digital, billing, and credit.
- Experience working for an enterprise software solutions vendor.
- Able to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
- Demonstrates tenacity and resilience to continue engagement with potential clients.
- Excellent leadership and coaching skills.
