About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Litigation Solicitor (5+ years PQE) to join our growing team at our Bury office. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented solicitor to take a leading role in a diverse caseload of civil, commercial, and general litigation matters.
You will be joining a dynamic and supportive environment where you will manage a broad range of disputes, represent a variety of clients, and play a key role in driving the litigation department forward.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and progress a varied caseload of litigation matters from inception to completion.
- Handle disputes across a range of areas including:
- Civil litigation: Property disputes, contentious probate, debt recovery, negligence claims.
- Commercial litigation: Contractual disputes, partnership disagreements, shareholder issues, commercial debt recovery.
- General litigation: Landlord and tenant disputes, boundary issues, enforcement actions, and other contentious matters.
- Draft legal documents including pleadings, witness statements, instructions to counsel, and settlement agreements.
- Conduct negotiations and attend mediations, settlement meetings, and court hearings as required.
- Provide strategic legal advice to clients, maintaining the highest standards of client care.
- Work closely with colleagues and support staff to ensure effective file management and compliance.
- Participate in business development initiatives and help grow the department’s presence in the local market.
Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with 5+ years’ post-qualification experience in litigation.
- Strong technical knowledge across civil, commercial, and general litigation matters. (Broad experience)
- Proven experience handling a broad and complex caseload with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
- Client-focused with a commercial mindset and proactive attitude.
- Experience supervising junior staff or assisting with training (desirable, but not essential).
