A market-leading organisation within the Litigation Finance sector is seeking a Systems and Support Engineer to join its growing technology function. The business provides specialised financial solutions to law firms across both consumer and commercial markets, supporting a wide range of claim portfolios and large-scale group actions across Europe and the USA. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Manchester. You’ll play a key part in supporting both development initiatives and internal technical operations across a variety of technologies. The ideal candidate is curious, proactive, and eager to expand their skill set across both front-end and back-end development. You’ll help build, customise, and optimise business systems while also providing day-to-day technical support to the wider team — from troubleshooting to assisting with new feature rollouts and handling data tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Head of Technology to deliver system reports and updates.
  • Provide first- and second-line support for internal systems, applications, and hardware.
  • Assist colleagues with technical support tasks such as password resets, SharePoint administration, laptop setup, software installation, and troubleshooting more complex system issues.
  • Develop and customise applications within the organisation’s IT environment.
  • Write clean, efficient, well-documented code (e.g., Deluge).
  • Contribute to front-end development using Vue.js, Bootstrap, and related frameworks.
  • Carry out data imports/exports using Excel and other tools, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Support analytics and reporting activities, preparing datasets and generating insights.
  • Stay up to date with system updates and emerging technologies relevant to the role.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Deluge, JavaScript).
  • Front-end development experience with frameworks such as Vue.js and Bootstrap.
  • Basic Python knowledge for automation or back-end tasks.
  • Understanding of REST APIs and system integrations.
  • Experience with databases and SQL.
  • Strong Excel skills, including data manipulation and formula/pivot table use.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and eagerness to learn.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Clear communication skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Prior experience in technical support or a hybrid IT/development role.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in software engineering, computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Exposure to platforms such as Proclaim, Zoho CRM, Zoho Creator, or similar systems.
  • Experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Zoho Analytics).
  • Understanding of cloud platforms and third-party API integrations.
