JOB TITLE: Minister of Religion (DIRECTOR OF PROGRAMMES) Leicester Branch.

ACCOUNTABLE TO: Director of Board of Trustees or His representative.

Main Purpose of the Post: Preaching, Teaching and Pastoral work of the Minister of Religion (Director of PROGRAMMES).

Job description

Primary function.β€”To lead the church to grow larger by providing kingdom leadership in the area of evangelism.

General function.β€”To work with and under the direction of the senior pastor as a member of the pastoral team to enable the church to focus on the Great Commission and to equip the church to carry out the five functions of the New Testament church: discipleship, ministry, fellowship, and worship.

Responsibilities

  • Leading β€” To lead members of the church to a deeper commitment of personal evangelism; officiating Holy communion service, Christening, Baptism for new converts.
  • Leading β€” To give oversight and direction to the evangelistic ministries of the church, including but not limited to: The Sunday School Outreach Special Evangelism Events Missions Ministering
  • Leading β€” To assist members of this church in fulfilling the task of evangelism through new and existing ministries of the church.
  • Communicating β€” To preach and teach the Bible, believing that it has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth without any mixture of error for its matter.
  • Communicating β€” To work with the senior pastor in communicating the priority of evangelism as a part of the vision for ministry that God gives to this congregation.

Expectations

The director of programmes is expected to be a servant leader.

The director of programmes is expected to live an exemplary life modelling the call, character, and competencies becoming a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Relationships

As a member of the pastoral team of this church, the Director of programmes is responsible to the senior pastor in all matters of church administration. In the absence of a senior pastor, the minister of programmes will be responsible to the interim team leader named during the time of transition.

Under employer equality (Religious and Beliefs) Regulations 2003 Section 7, this post has a genuine occupational requirement to be a Christian.

You will also be required to undergo DBS Check for this post.
