Accountable To: Director of Board of Trustees or His representative.

Main Purpose of the Post: Preaching, Teaching and Pastoral work of the Minister of Religion. Working hand in hand with the director of trustees in improving the welfare of staff and members of the church.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with and under the direction of the senior pastor as a member of the pastoral team to enable the church to focus on the Great Commission and equip the church to carry out the five functions of the New Testament church: evangelism, discipleship, ministry, fellowship, and worship.
  • Lead members of the church to a deeper commitment to personal evangelism and officiate Holy Communion services, Christening, Marriages, Baptisms for new converts and other pastoral roles as required by the church.
  • Work as part of a team to develop and deliver strategies to improve the welfare of our staffs and church members.
  • Help members overcome barriers through a range of targeted interventions focused on securing members' spiritual, emotional and physical well-being.
  • Effectively respond to the welfare support needs of staff and church members, through effective work with other pastors, church workers and other church‑related groups.
  • Give oversight and direction to the ministries of the church, including but not limited to: the Sunday School, Outreach, Special Evangelism Events and Missions Ministering.
  • Preach and teach the Bible, believing that it is written by God, provides salvation and is truth without error.
  • Engage with other ministers to carry out programs of membership care, including plans for growth in devotional life and distribution of devotional materials.
  • Accept other additional duties as directed by management.

Legal and Background Checks: Under employer equality (Religious and Beliefs) Regulations 2003 Section 7, this post has a genuine occupational requirement to be a Christian. You will also be required to undergo a DBS Check for this post.
