The City of London’s Housing Service manages 12 estates, totalling 5,500 homes. Three of these estates are in the Square Mile (including the iconic Barbican Estate) and a further nine estates are in neighbouring London boroughs. Our tenants and leaseholders are at the heart of everything we do, supporting us as we strive to effectively manage, maintain, and improve the property that is their home.
The Major Works Team (HRA) is primarily responsible for the delivery of an ambitious capital programme of planned maintenance, improvements, and refurbishment to the Corporation’s social housing stock over the next 10 years. Work will include roof and window replacement, communal decorations, mechanical and electrical upgrades, fire safety, internal decent homes, and potentially some de‑carbonisation elements.
We are looking for a self‑motivated and driven Project Manager, with an eye for detail and a real desire to achieve and deliver in challenging circumstances. The successful candidate will have experience of project and contract management, together with sound construction knowledge and ideally an understanding of working client‑side. The role also requires strong communication skills and experience in dealing with a range of customers and stakeholders. Being customer focused, having a positive attitude, drive and enthusiasm are key ingredients for this role.
